Myasthenia Gravis Diagnosis — a Six-Year Journey

Similar to other people living with rare autoimmune diseases, Bryan’s path to getting a generalized myasthenia gravis (MG) diagnosis wasn’t easy. It all started when he presented symptoms of myasthenia gravis (MG), including muscle weakness and difficulty breathing, chewing, and swallowing. In the span of six years, it took three primary care physicians, seven neurologists, and eight misdiagnoses to accurately diagnose him.

This journey didn’t only take a toll on him, but also on his friends and family. While a lot of his relationships changed, some people truly stayed with him through it all.
